JGSPBCI Board Meeting (zoom)

Absent: Sylvia Nusinov

President Ina Getzoff called the meeting to order at 1pm.

Treasurer Larry Schulman read the Secretaries report from the previous meeting. They were accepted as amended.

Treasurer: Larry Schulman reported that our operating account has $25,114.59 and our reserve account has $14,684.10. As of the end of January, we had 199 paid memberships. Larry presented the proposed 2021-2022 budget for discussion. We are assuming that we will be able to meet face to face in our next fiscal year, from September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022. We decided that JGSPBCI would absorb the one dollar per member that paying annual membership electronically will cost. When we go back to face-to-face meetings, we will charge guests $5.00 per meeting.

We are hoping to have our annual luncheon next February. (31 st Anniversary, or delayed by Covid 30th Anniversary Celebration) Luncheon monies paid in should equal expenses.

We have no library committee. We should check to see if the library is still intact. We have budget items for a printer and a laptop for the library. The estimate for the subscriptions for the library is $280.00.

We agreed to spend $1500.00 on advertising on Google, Facebook and print.

Mona Morris made a motion to accept the budget as corrected. Walter Rosenthal seconded it. The vote was unanimous. The designation of “surplus” funds will be discussed at a later date.

Committee Reports

Membership: The committee reported we have 152 single members, 46 family members. 244 individuals. Marilyn requested a revised roster.

Reception: Glenn reported that we had 100 attendees at our last meeting. 86 members and 14 guests.

Media publicity: Marilyn Lane reports that she has the information for our next meeting. Ken Cutler will be speaking. April will be our annual SOS with Larry Schulman and Michael Herzlich. We need a May speaker.

Walter Rosenthal and Marilyn Lane want to start a new project to communicate with our membership on a more frequent basis, called “ Did you know?” It will include email useful to our membership. Also we would take out ¼ page ads in 4 or 5 communities newspapers to advertise for new members.

Directory: Mona Morris wants a new member application.

Mona made a motion to discontinue the $50 payment for extra people for Zoom. Alan Huss seconded and it passed.

Walter Rosenthal moved to adjourn the meeting at 3:03.

Respectfully submitted,

Beryl Cole
Secretary[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
