Board Minutes 2022-03-23

The meeting was called to order by President Ina Getzoff at 1PM. As acting secretary she read the minutes for the meeting of Feb. 26, 2022 which were accepted without correction. Ina also had indicated in an earlier e-mail to the board that there would be only abbreviated reports since Treasurer Larry Schulman was going to be presenting the new budget for fiscal year 2022/2023.

TREASURER’S REPORT” Treasurer Larry Schulman quickly went through the present bank statement and was asked one question about the money in the Reserve account that he responded to. The board unanimously approved his report.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
MEMBERSHIP: Membership Vice President Joel Sisitsky reported that we have 201 memberships and 237 members.

PROGRAMMING: Program chair Beryl Cole mentioned that she might like for us to have our May 11th, 2022 meeting which is a zoom tour of the ANU Museum in Israel live at the South County Civic Center. It would also be a hybrid meeting for those unable to attend. John will call ANU and Ina will check with the South County Civic Center to make sure the date is available.

WORKSHOPS: Special Interest Workshop Chair Vice President Eric Sharenow reported that Larry Schulman’s workshop on March 30, 2022 would be members only. Any questions that are not asked after the end of the workshop can be e-mailed and will be promptly answered.

WEBSITE/IT UPDATE: No Report

BUDGET:
After the above committee reports were completed the meeting was turned over to Treasurer Larry Schulman to present the budget for the next fiscal year. There were many questions, comments, and some very long discussions. The board was unable to reach a consensus to pass the budget as presented. Treasurer Larry Schulman made a motion to hold a special budget meeting on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. The motion was seconded byVice President Joel Sisitsky and passed unanimously. Larry requested that everyone come back with their suggestions for whatever changes they wanted to see.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:05PM. The next special budget meeting will be Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 10:30AM. The next regular monthly meeting will be Wednesday, April 13th, 2022 and the next board meeting will be Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
