Board Minutes 2021-11-17 (VIRTUAL)

The meeting was called to order at 1PM by President Ina Getzoff. A motion was made by board member John Cole to accept the minutes for the Oct. 27, 2021 meeting minutes as previously submitted. The motion was seconded by Glenn Segal and approved unanimously by the board.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer Larry Schulman presented his report and then went through the budget that was previously approved by the board for fiscal year 2021/2022.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
MEMBERSHIP: Membership chair Joel Sisitsky reported that we have 109 individual memberships, 47 family memberships and 20 family lifetime memberships.

RECEPTION: Reception chair Glenn Segal reported that we had 56 attendees at our November monthly membership meeting. He asked why some people registered but did not attend and was told that there were numerous reasons . There was a discussion regarding guests who paid and did not attend being able to the presentation on our website. A motion was made by Larry Schulman and seconded by John Cole stating the following: “Any paying guest may only have access to zoom presentation at the time of the meeting. The motion was passed by a majority vote.

MEDIA PUBLICITY: Media Publicity chair Walter Rosenthal reported that a card with our name and website would be placed in two community newsletters. It would cost $120 each and run for six months.

MEMBER PUBLICITY: Member Publicity chair Marilyn Lane reported that meeting notices would go out on Sunday instead of Wednesday.

PROGRAMMING: Program chair Beryl Cole reported that she sent out a list of speakers for the board to review for the new season and she would have a program committee meeting after the Thanksgiving holiday.

OLD BUSINESS:
Member Workshop: No Report

NEW BUSINESS:
CREDIT CARD: Treasurer Larry Schulmn requested that any board member needing to use our organization credit card please send him the form he created and the receipt with the information and also have previous approval from either him or president Ina Getzoff.

PAYMENT TO NOVEMBER SPEAKER: Board member John Cole made a motion to increase the payment to our November speaker to $18X20 ($360) because of the work he and his organization are doing in the cemeteries in Poland. After much discussion and treasurer Larry Schulman explaining why it could not be done the motion was withdrawn.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:45PM. The next general meeting will be Wednesday, Dec. 8th and the next board meeting will be on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021.
