Board Minutes 2022-01-25 (VIRTUAL)

She told the board that she did not have the minutes for the December, 2021 meeting available but would work on it in the interim.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer Larry Schulman reported that we have $28,218,09 in the operating account and $13,798,10 in the reserve account. Larry reported that the check book was also balanced.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
MEMBERSHIP- No Report.

RECEPTION: Reception chair Glenn Segal reported that we had 73 members and 15 guests at our Jan. 12, 2022 meeting.

MEDIA PUBLICITY: Media Publicity chair Walter Rosenthal reported that the notice for our Feb 9, 2022 meeting will be sent on Monday. Walter also reported that only paid guests would be admitted to the meeting . He also said that “thank you notes” would be sent to all registrants regardless of their attendance at the meeting. Lastly, a list of registered guests would be sent to those who registered for follow up by membership. Eric Sharenow suggested that we might want to send something special to our guests-maybe a certificate acknowledging that they attended the meeting. It appears that we have more out of town guests registering than those from our local communities.

MEMBERSHIP PUBLICITY: Membership Publicity chair Marilyn Lane reported that the notice for the February meeting would be going out two more times before the day of the meeting.

PROGRAMMING: Program chair Beryl Cole reported that she already has some speakers in place for our 2022/2023 season.

WEBSITE: Website chair Mona Morris reported that all was well with the website and some changes were being worked on.

IT UPDATE: IT chair John Cole reported that there were some development issues that had occurred but were resolved. He also said that with some of our members who were new we needed to follow up to populate the directory website.

OLD BUSINESS:
JGSPBC CREDIT CARD: Treasurer Larry Schulman brought forth a motion that was a follow-up from the last meeting regarding the use of our JGSPBC credit card. The motion was seconded by John Cole and is as follows: “Any board member wanting to use our organization credit card should send the proper form and receipt with the information regarding the purchase and should have previous approval from either the treasurer or president for the use of the same. The motion was voted on and passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:
NOMINATING COMMITTEE: President Ina Getzoff announced that past president emerita Mona Morris had agreed to head the nominating committee for the 2022 elections in May. (That has since changed).

The meeting was adjourned at 2:30PM. The next general meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022 and the next board meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022.
