[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][alg_back_button][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]ABSENT: Judy Gelpey; Joel Sisitsky; Eric Sharenow; Allan Huss; John Cole.

The meeting was called to order by President Beryl Cole at 1PM.. It was noted that the meeting minutes for the previous board meeting had not been read by most of the board members so they could not be voted on.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Since treasurer Larry Schulman did not know in advance that there would be a board meeting on this date there was no treasurer’s report.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

MEMBERSHIP-VP Joel Sisitsky: Joel was not present at this meeting. President Beryl Cole reported that Joel sent her a note that our membership numbers were the same as the previous month.

EDUCATION: VP ERIC SHARENOW: No Report

POLICIES AND PROCEDURE MANUAL: VP ERIC SHARENOW: No Report.

PROGRAMMING: President Cole announced that board member Allan Huss would be our new program chair. Allan was not at the meeting since he was recovering from Covid. He plans to be at the next board meeting.

MEDIA PUBLICITY: Walter Rosenthal: Walter reported that he will be sending out the announcement for the October meeting. He also has sent out information to several communities regarding our programs but will see what results come back before spending more money from his allotted budget.

OLD BUSINESS:
PRESENTATION: President Cole presented Walter Rosenthal with a plaque acknowledging all the work he has done for the organization. He thanked her and said he was honored.

INDIAN SPRING LUNCHEON: The Indian Spring Country Club has had a $500 deposit check from us since Covid started and our luncheon has had to be canceled. Board member Mona Morris suggested that we might want to speak with them regarding the possibility of doing a small event so that the money can be used and add whatever amount might be needed. We would have to restrict the number of members that would be able to attend this event.

INDEMNIFICATION INSURANCE: President Beryl Cole said she contacted the insurance company that she previously spoke to and asked them to send her a copy of the policy that we might want to purchase so that it could be reviewed by Allan Huss who is one of our board members that is an attorney. Allan had requested to see this policy before commenting on it. She said that the person she spoke with at the insurance company refused and told her the only way she could get a copy of the policy was for us to purchase it.
Since Allan was not at this meeting she assigned Andrew Waksul who is also an attorney to follow up and report back at the October 26th board meeting.

NEW BUSINESS
New Treasurer: Treasurer Larry Schulman asked about someone taking over for him as treasurer at the end of the calendar year but there is no-one right now in the organization who wants to take on the job. Board member John Cole had done some research and found an accounting firm that would charge us approximately $384.00 per month to do our accounting reports. President Cole admitted she did not realize how much work was involved in being treasurer. Board member Dennis Rice suggested that a notice be put in Scattered Seeds and also sent to the membership that we are looking for someone to take over as treasurer before we spend what would amount to almost $4600 per year for this accounting firm.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:42PM. The next monthly meeting is on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022 and the next board meeting is on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022.

Respectfully submitted for Secretary Judy Gelpey
